They have started to innovate what the bikes need to be comfortable as a utility bike. Most of their frames come with the option to install fenders aswell as touring racks.

The Stayan on the otherhand brings that roadie snop feel.

bright polished lugs butted to Tange Prestige tubing.

Not going to get you the Merckx WOW factor, but wont get you snarled at by some macho fixed gear rider.

they have some Urban/lifestlye frames and hopefully completes in the works.

awhile back we had a video of me talking about the Jersey we had been working on.

its been done for awhile and i have slacked it on posting pictures.

we tryed to mix old with new. the designed is based around the old wool jersey look with simple lines of color.

yet, we still had them produced with newer jersey materials. i honestly hate the tight feeling of jerseys, but hese have a definate relaxed feel. they are not road or mountain specific and also have the traditional 3 pockets on the back for a water bottle, wallet, energy bar, etc...

I met Trevor on my first trip up to SF. rides the haight district daily, came from Florida. From flats to hills that are some of the most fun in the world! for the crazy cyclists that is!

He is now working at Low Bicycles in San Fransisco and testing a new frame Geometry for them.

he had me on a trail-a-bike everyweekend. even the Big Bear couldnt stop us!

so when he asked me to edit this video for him i really tried to pull together what i and him shared while on a bike.... haha cheeseball enough for ya?

Mountain bikking to me... you loose everything and get to go play. its human beings being out in the wilderness like animals.

Red Bull Ride and Rage!

to start this story out i will admit i way under planned going and it made the trip that much more awesome being so random!

anyways, as some of you may know, Red Bull had their first Ride and Style event go down in San Fransisco this weekend.

big shout out to BrieSmash and Anthony "of the Night!" for letting me crash and for all the good times!

The Event Consisted of two disciplines of fix

ed gear ridding. Track Racing and Freestyle ridding. The Race was a super narro

w speedway along the perimeter of the downtown park. Riders had to make sharp banked turns while at the same time elbow down the straights, all this and still they were battling each other's time!

Jason Clary (Pake) a local to SF managed to out pedal one of his good friends to take the win!

and that was just the races!

the trick comp was a whole'nother animal! with custom designed ramps from artists all around the west coast including Arlo Eisenberg(Gost). about 20 riders from as far as japan! One of the pioneers of fixed gear Freestlye, Keo Curry was hosting all the trick riders and spoke with them

before they were given the chance to ride setups ranging from a 10 foot tall quarter pipe, a high roller gap, bank to bank transfers, and 3 big red rails at the center of the course. kept it san fransisco friendly with a rainbow rail haha

So much madness went down! Joe Mckeag killed it with a busted headset we were fixing after every round. Congo decided to smash up the plastic dice instead of just Gapping over them!

i have to say the 540's that were being done on the quarter pipe were the craziest! Boothby got boosted over vert on his!

i also had the pleasure of Watching Kozo ( japan) backflip and tailwhip... yea on a fixed gear!

if all that doesnt sound like enough. after all the madness in the park, all of us decided to show the streets of SF that their cars had a place in our hearts!

So many of you know since the start of Fixed Freestyle the quest for better, stronger , longer lasting foot retention has yet to stop! even guys that are not into tricks same goes for you, double straps and cages, or foot retention. The company that " changed the Game" was HoldFast, handmade in Brooklyn, Velcro single, heavy duty strap.

well to get to the point

Bici Concepts, which got their start saving your junk with style, ha. Top Tube Pads.

Have just release their own foot retention set.

instead of the popular, through the pedal technique, Shilo designed a bolt on way of securing the strap. A heavy duty screw, spacer, and locknut hold the doubled up fabric to the outer holes of the pedal. This method also keeps the options of pedals way more open, due to the smaller space needed to secure the straps.

Shilo and Joe McKeag came in today and showed

us these bad boys.

I watched Joe nose pivot 360 off the stage in Cherry Park yesterday. Props! footage will surface soon im sure!

i had the pleasure of meeting Kareem in Vegas for Interbike 2010.

i recognized him from watching the death pedal movies that always got me stoked to push stuff further on my fixed gear.

so with the growing scene of fixed gears there have been a few nuts out there doing some mountain biking! yes mountain trails Fixed! this is Kyle Crooks' Thrasher build that him and our boy Matty Bee have been killin the Redlands hills on.

here Kyle is boostin pretty high over the crest of this hill.

so a few new things rolled into the shop the past couple days. first we finally got in the RECHARBLE Boomers from Knog!
they literally plug into a USB port and charge up!
these lights are way bright, me and stephen both swear by em now. $36.99 a pop and no more batteries!

annnd we got a set of heffers in, i mean Chubs!
a little newer design to these beautifully bulky hubs, with a machined surface on the flange.
Surprisingly these hubs are some of the lightest on the market! even soaking wet!

the other day at the shop we had to "modify" JD's mordicai leader frame. he needed the seat slammed as far down as possible and because of the built in seat clamp that was damn near impossible.

my week end has been quite eventful.

i payed a visit to the Green Bike Program in Pitzer college. Those of you not " with the

program"... ha! its a student run and owner Co- Opp. they help other students with bicycle repairs, rent bikes, do community service workshops, and last but not least Patry with the best of us!

here are a few pictures of my

friday night with some of the volunteers.

i also went to the Chubby Boob Revenge of the Nerds Race on Sunday. i entered the race, which i have never done before. ive organized a few checkpoint races but this one was by far the funnest. got to shoot a paintball gun, play a round of beer pong, and got some cute girl to take a pair of panties off and put them around my neck! Now thats a race! i only got before and after race pictures but im sure there will be shots on Traffik and TOLA. Great event fellas! awesome turn out for the Riverside locals! over 60 people entered the race! have to admit i raced with some of the fastest dudes from LA and with all the respect in the world gave me a run for my money. Hern is one fast BMXer.

Burro Straps as many of you may know are AWESOME! all the team rocks em and they sell well to all kinds of people, we had a moutain biker buy a pair today, he was pretty stoked on em to say the least.

Burro also sent over another product they just released.. a snazy wallet! again all made from recycled vynal of billboards!

Unknown frames starting to get spotted!

so one thing to the growing FGFS scene is the start of smaller new companies: The Grime, Gorilla(RIP), Leader, RYD, and Unknown!
i have been talking closely with the riders of unknown like Sean Rosner, who is killin it right now and i cant wait for his new edit!
anyways, the point of this being we are going to be supporting some of these new up comming companies, one in particular Unknown Bike Co.
Stephen has actually been ridding the V1 frame for a few weeks now and loves it!
in turn we will be getting in some of the first V2 frames to the states ( yes i will have sneak peek pictures up as soon as the boxes arrive)these guys have really looked at the scene well and are producing two frames, a 700c and then also a 26" specific frame.
both with 14mm dropouts, with a hub along with it!
im stoked to get my grubby little paws on one of these bad boys and mess it up a little before we send it off to Sean!

we just got in some budget 9 tooth driver wheels.
a lot of kids have been upgrading to 25X9 gearing on their bmx bikes.
BLack Label may not be the BEST rear wheel but for most kids starting out itll hold up!
sealed rear cassette and forged 25tooth sprocket
we made them a pair to make it that much easier
cant beat it for 100$!!

New Years in SF

A few of you may know i spent the four days the shop was closed for new years in san fran.

if you remember this past summer Stephen, Shaggy, Grant, and a few other dudes went up there aswell, but planned to ride home.

i chose a little different approach for my trip nor

i met up with a good friend of mine Brie, who is a messenger in the Mission district.

she allowed me to shadow her for a few days while she did her deliveries.

anyways long story short, i had a blast, ha was on my bike for the majority of the two full days and saw, met some of the coolest people and places.

Brie works for TCB courier, which covers the whole 7X7.

people call from miles away to get this simple and stylish food. Brie would deliver for these guys on a regular basis to countless homes. anyplace with a cleaver as their logo next to a bar with a giant pink martini glass will be good in my books! very classy!

so before i babble too much about the fun i had up there i wanna personally thank Brie for showing me around, she recently got her bike stolen and witness how carring a city can be to people that deserve it! check out her blog ASS Fault

so i recently decided to get a new bag. i needed something bigger for the trips ive been going on and because im strictly on two wheels now, something to hold up in this strange rain we keep having in sunny southern california.

im always about supporting rider and owner run companies, so my buddy Patrick from PC

recomended Blaq Bags based out of Portland.

i talked to Jeremy over there who was ridding with the prototype of the rolltop bag.

i told him what i wanted to bag to do look ,like etc.

these come in 33t, 36,39, and 42t to get your gearing dialed.
they look beefy and i have a feeling they will hold up! 65- 70 bucks is way better than the tree lite that was going for almost 90...
